Beyond Plaid
A true pilot's car.
First shown as a prototype in 2017 and revealed in production form at Tesla's Roadster event, the next-generation Roadster is positioned by Tesla, Inc. as its flagship performance car: a sports car that goes beyond Plaid, with active aerodynamics, a multi-mode suction system for downforce and, on the highest trims, SpaceX-derived cold-gas thrusters.
Longhorn EV is registering pre-order interest now. When ordering opens we will contact everyone on our list, in the order they registered, to confirm specification, pricing and next steps.

As described by Tesla
Engineered past the limits.
Highlights from Tesla's own description of Roadster. Final specifications are set by Tesla, Inc.
- 01
Active Aero
Active wings and a flush, hidden-aero body switch between high-downforce and low-drag modes, with a Track Mode that lowers the car and transforms the suspension.
- 02
Multi-Mode Suction
A powered fan and ground-sealing system pulls air from beneath the car, generating downforce even at a standstill for traction and cornering in all conditions.
- 03
Cold-Gas Thrusters
On the Thrust and Rocket trims, SpaceX-derived cold-gas thrusters with all-electric actuators add precise, near-instant thrust.
- 04
Steer-by-Wire Yoke
A yoke designed for a next-generation steer-by-wire system, with a central touchscreen and two forward displays for critical driving information.
- 05
Mass Control
Magnesium, titanium and carbon fibre throughout, manual controls and a fixed seat position keep mass down so the car responds almost instantly.
- 06
Aerospace Finishes
Ano White paint inspired by rocket-protection coatings, gold-glazed glass echoing spacesuit visors, and an Ultrawhite interior with microsuede detailing.
Trims
Three ways to fly.
Availability as published by Tesla. Longhorn EV will confirm which trims can be ordered through us when ordering opens.
- By reservation
Performance
